Britain, Canada and the North Pacific: Maritime Enterprise and Dominion, 1778-1914

The essays in this volume are divided into two main thematic areas; the first focusing on British activities and foreign competition up until 1846, the second dealing with the politics and decolonisation of Latin American states and means by which Canada sought to extend its interests into the Pacific world.
