The writings of the French historian and politician Louis Blanc (1811-82) had a considerable influence on the development of French socialism. Volume 7 of this twelve-volume history, first published in 1855, covers the 'second Revolution' led by the new revolutionary Commune in August 1792 and explores its aftermath.
