Richard Hakluyt (1552?-1616) was an indefatigable editor and translator of geographical accounts. His most famous work was first published in 1589, and expanded in 1598-1600: this reissue is of the twelve-volume edition of 1903-5. Volume 6 contains voyages made to Syria, India, Japan and the East Indies.
