Powers of Theory

Theories of the nature of the state in Western capitalist democracies tend to employ either the 'pluralist', the 'managerial' ot the 'class' perspective. This book evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of each perspective and presents a new, synthetic framework for a more comprehensive theory of the state.
