This history of the theology and rituals of Rastafarianism features the reggae of Bob Marley and the teachings and philosophy of Marcus Garvey, who motivated many Jamaicans to embrace their African roots. The author, a theologian raised in the village in which Rastafarianism originated, offers a serious inquiry from the perspective of an insider.
