Fundamental Competencies for Engineers

Fundamental Competencies for Engineers focuses on the skills that are required for all engineers, regardless of their area of specialization. A series of case studies teaches first-year engineering students to consider the ethical implications of their work, to function as a member of multidisciplinary teams, to communicate effectively, to create technical drawings and mathematical models, to make provisions for failure, and to evaluate projects againsmultiple (and often conflicting) goals.
