First published in 1844, these two volumes present a collection of letters by Thomas Arnold (1795-1842), Head of Rugby School and Professor of History at Oxford, interspersed with a biographical commentary by the author. Volume 1 covers his time at Rugby and Volume 2, his controversial final year at Oxford.
