Records of a Family of Engineers

Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894), novelist and poet, was descended from a famous Scottish engineering family, particularly known for lighthouse construction. This family history, published in 1912, vividly recounts his ancestors' professional and private lives, and includes his grandfather's account of the building of the Bell Rock lighthouse.
