Rethinking Japan

This study provides a broad examination of the current Shinzo Abe government in Japan. It analyzes various controversial domestic and foreign policies and argues that its election in 2012 inaugurated a new political phase characterized by opposition weakness and ruling-party unity around a nationalist agenda.
